Eight of us came here on a Saturday night without a reservation and had to wait 1 1/2 hours to be seated. None of us had eaten lunch so we were really hungry. Needless to say we were disappointed to have to wait so long but the host & bar staff were great. The place was obviously overwhelmed tonight and we had a few mistakes with our entrees but the manager stopped by to comp us some things, the waitress was friendly and hustling everywhere. I'm giving them 4 stars even though this visit only merits 3 based on the craziness of this particular night & family reassurances that on all of their several other visits the service & food have been great + they never had to wait more than 30 minutes to sit. Cheers :)

Great place. Good cocktail list, nice variety of menu options, including gluten free (although I didn't ask for that one. Our waiter was also very nice and attentive.

I waited until our 2nd visit tonight to write a review. Average Joes is just plain average. Atmosphere is good, bar area is conducive for a variety of seating and different size groups, and the happy hour choices are solid. But...food is so-so. First visit, my wife and I shared spicy tuna sushi roll. No need to 'lightly' deep fry this...and the teriyaki glaze is thick. Just stick to basics. Wife ordered a chicken salad, which was standard and I had a burger. Roll was dry and fell apart (we attended a Sat night dinner), and the fries were very oily. Tonight we had nachos, which were disappointing. $9.50 for a small plate of nachos, that 4 of us attempted to split. The waitress wasn't much help to advise about the smaller portions and try to upsell another app. Entrees were standard: chicken salad, burger, turkey burger and chicken sandwich...all of which were suffice. There is a ton of potential here...just lighten up on oil and hire more friendly, personal staff that can upsell and make everyone more money. I may make it back, but there's better choices around for the money.

Wow everytime we go here, the food is amazing !! However, not tonight. They have a great selection for Gluten Free food, but tonight they were out if GF bread, the cheese steak rolls where tough couldn't even bite into them, the south west burger was to be medium well, an was well under medium, the GF Thai chicken wraps where just thrown together an barely any chicken, Very Disappointing !!!! Maybe the just had an off night, will try again an hope they will be back to the usual 4 stars :-/

This is my 3rd time here and I've had amazing customer service everytime. This time I came here with a dairy and soy allergy and the server and manager were very accommodating with making sure the food I order is dairy and soy free. The food was still amazing with the accommodation. I have recommended this place to many people who have a restricted diet. Update: I've been to this place like 5 times now.

VERY surprised at the amazing decor of this place, the price of the food and especially wines, the service, and of course the food. I did not expect this out of this place considering it used to be an Outback, but the place is gorgeous and the staff is very friendly. BOTTLES of wine are half of their already reasonable prices on Wednesdays (we were ordering bottles of a Super Tuscan for $16 ea!). The veggie burger was not good (I know what you're thinking: "it's a veggie burger, they're never good" but that's not true). It was basically a patty of rice that completely fell apart when I bit into it, but everything else was fantastic. Nachos, buffalo tenders, wedge salad, soup, jambalaya, etc. The manager Dave is super nice, too. Would definitely go back and recommend.

3 Stars for being pretty average for "Not Your Average Joe's". First the good stuff: They have done a heck of a job (spent a ton of money) on renovating the old Outback...the place looks really nice and looks nothing like what it was before. If anything I'd give the decor 4 stars or "above average". Kitchen looks nice and clean (but of course the restaurant is only 2 weeks old). Service was OK. Now for the not so good stuff: Food was really average, the meal we had was pretty bland all around. The Salmon that my wife ordered was not spectacular and again, just average. The Jambalya that I ordered had a little kick to it, but again nothing special. Fries that came out with some of the entree looked like they were cooked in really old oil (pictures posted)..when everything should be brand new, as the restaurant is only 2 weeks old We did enjoy our Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll. It was pretty filling for an appetizer (pictures posted). There are a lot of "Not Your Average Joe's" located on the East Coast, primarily in Massachusetts. I think though that if they want to call themselves 'Not Your Average Joe's", they should really put something spectacular on the menu, as these type of restaurants are a dime a dozen. We don't know if we'd come back or not next time, as there is a restaurant down the road that serves similar type of food call Firebirds Wood Fired Grill that we go to all the time that we think is much better.

I like this place, everyone working there is pleasant, food has been good for the most part. I would never order the nachos again. Love the bread they give you but why serve it with canola oil instead of olive oil? Canola oil is not good for you, and olive oil tastes much better. Lets switch over to olive oil, thanks.

The staff was very professional and friendly. That's about all that we enjoyed when we had dinner here. This place is some sort of weird sports bar/nice restaurant hybrid. The food and drinks are very over priced. We got one of their signature pizzas and a shrimp salad. The pizza was mediocre and small. The salad was $20 and it was really bad. It was small, soggy, and had maybe 5 pieces of shrimp in it. Until this place decides what type of restaurant it wants to be and makes changes accordingly, we won't be back.

Got a flat tire cause of a pothole from hell. Came here and the bartender Abraham let me use his jack and was as nice as can be.

I've been here three times so far. I like the layout and I've never had to wait that long. Service people are excellent. Except the one time this lady I had was very soft spoken. I was afraid I was going to wind up with a puffy shirt desert. The spicy chicken and the cheesesteak egg rolls are great appys. Stay away from the fish and chips entree. Tasted like eating a hash brown the fish was so bland. The salmon is nice, the pizza better than average. Whatever you do don't order the key lime pie. We've tried it on two occasions and on both times the crust is either not made of graham cracker or it is just plain burnt. Overall I like the food and effort, but there needs to a return to staples and there needs to be more choices.

Very good. I found the food prices very good and the portions generous. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the service was excellent. The menu has lots of options. I had a pecan crusted chicken with mashed sweet potato that was very very good. I can hardly wait to go back and try something else.

This place is so BELOW AVERAGE it is pathetic. They need to TRAIN THEIR STAFF. If you put a bunch of young unexperienced people at the front desk that are clueless what do you think the rest of the business is going to be like?? I went there with a friend the first time and ordered a cheeseburger medium well with fries. They forgot the cheese.Really??? They took it back and stuck a piece of unmelted cheese on top.The burger itself was good. Twice i went back and ordered the same thing for take out. The first time my burger was medium rare and the second time was today where i repeated my order several times hoping they would get it right this time and it was wrong again! I will not go back . Part of running a business correctly is training your employees properly and let them learn the menu. I will be telling everyone not to waste their money and go to PF Changs where they get things right.

The place is very nice and the waiters were nice too. The alcoholic cocktails were good. I ordered a mango ice tea which later I found out they didn't have anymore so picked the watermelon ice tea. Let's just say I'm not getting that again. Started with a cheesesteak eggroll, it was something different. Very good but very heavy and oily. My sister got the meatloaf which she said was good. My wife got the chicken cabrese which was ok, the chicken had a charbroiled taste but plain. The salad that came with it was very flavorful. I ordered a medium rare sweet blue burger with fries. It looked delicious BUT really wasn't. The burger patties itself was very moist the entire burger was bland and not flavorful at all, even with the grilled onions, bacon and blue cheese didn't help. I didn't know if it was me or not, so my wife and sister tried it too. They said the same thing. I ended up only eating half of it. Fries were ok. All in all, it wasn't a good experience on my order. The bill ended up being ~$70 for us three. I would like to try their pizza the next time.

Great heirloom tomato and mozzarella flatbread. Ceasar salad was also delicious with lots of parm cheese. Nathan, our waiter was very nice.

My wife wanted to try it so I ordered take out for the family. I got the fish and chips the fish was average and the chips, well I'll never know , all I got was a piece of fish and some coleslaw. My daughter got Mac a cheese her favorite food. After two bites she began crying that she wanted something else to eat because it was terrible. How do you ruin Mac and cheese. Anyway., I fired up the grill and made bubba burgers and they were actually much better. So I wasted 60 bucks and an hour of driving. The name of the place is Not Your Average Joe and they were dead on. My bubba burgers were average , this place was much worse

For the gluten free diner this place is heaven! I am jaded when it comes to eating out because I have a gluten allergy. The usual scenario: I sit and watch friends eat bread and olive oil that I can't have, I am handed a "special" gluten free menu which is really just the regular menu with most things taken off, then I am offered a scoop of vanilla ice cream as dessert. Not your average Joe's is totally different. The kitchen will bake up gluten free bread as a complimentary starter (Now you can munch away with your gluten consuming friends!) The gluten free menu is a full menu. It has burgers (gluten free buns baked fresh there), seafood entrees (at least one that does not appear of the regular menu (oh how your friends and family will be jealous!), and desserts (I tried a delicious gluten-free carrot cake that was delightful!) And so much more! Thank you NYAJ for a dining out experience that was quite enjoyable! I will be back.

From beginning to end, a perfect evening! The wait-staff, relaxing and comfortable atmosphere and food & drinks were perfect. I would rate this as $$ instead of $$$. Bold flavorful dishes left us full, next time I'll be sure to save room for dessert! It's really nice to be able to get great service and food without having to dress up. Definitely can't wait to go back!

  • Alysha F.

I have a severe gluten intolerance and have pretty much given up on eating out anywhere, as I always get sick. NYAJ's has a great selection of gluten free options and they take extra caution in their food prep to prevent cross contamination. They even have delicious gluten free bread available which is served before the meals. Ive had the salmon and the haddock and both were phenomenal. We always have terrific service and our food is out to us quickly, even when the restaurant is busy. Sign up for emails while you're there and get a coupon for your next visit and then you'll get alerts on weekly specials. Definitely check this place out, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

  • Jim D.

Victim of its own success. Don't bother trying to get in of a Friday or Saturday night, you'll be looking at a 40 minute wait. Also, make sure the host /hostess reads your phone number back to you if you decide to wait as they're only half paying attention to you anyway. If you make past that, the food is still pretty decent.

Great food and bar service! We had half price apps on game day and they were fantastic for the price! 5$!

This place was a great stop to re-connect with an old friend. We arrived at 6 on Tuesday and had to wait 30 minutes for a table for 2. It was a holiday type week so this probably isn't normal. When they called our name for our table it's lucky we were sitting right by the counter because there was really no yelling or raised voice about it. Could have been very easy to miss. Once seated our server was pleasant enough. We ordered drinks and dinner then settled in to enjoy the foccacia and oil they make with cheese and garlic. Quite tasty. They drinks took a bit to get served, but they were tasty when they arrived. Not much alcohol. We both ordered the meat loaf which was recommended by our server and which I had already been eyeing on the online menu. This also took a while to be served, but that wasn't really noticed this evening given my superb company. Once it arrived it was certainly not your average meatloaf. Two piles about the size of a thick hamburger on top of potatoes with vegetables, then more potatoes on top and crunchy onions. It was quite good. We spent some time talking after we finished and even after we paid. I felt a little bad since I figured there were people waiting, but we never felt pressured to leave. I would return, this place seemed pretty solid.

It's fine for lunch. Onion soup was hot and good broth. Took forever between the soup and the lunch's. Not sure what happened, the waitress kinda got lost I think. Lamb sliders were the best item, the SW burger was ok and came with tons of onion straws. I would try it again for lunch, but not sure I would try dinner there.

Great ambiance. Food quality and selection wise, this place is just a glorified Applebys/TGIF/Chilis. So really a average Joe. Also, service is slow and inattentive on busy nights. Most servers are inexperienced and not trained well enough on the menu. Our server kept disappearing. We had to get another server to go get her. Overall the restaurant should work harder, specially with Harvest being next door.

JORDAN WAS THE BEST! If you go to Not Your Average Joes in Glen Mills during the week make sure you request her. She cares about her all of her patrons and always makes you have everything you need, couldn't ask for anything more! The food was great and they had a good wine/drink menu. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I have been here three times and love it. We have each ordered three different meals (for a total of 6) and they have all been amazing. Full of flavor and enough for a doggie bag! I would give them 5 stars but the service isn't as great as the food. They are very nice but are not very attentive...empty glasses for way too long and long times in between visits. I have talked to several friends and they say the same thing, great food, ok service but they (and we) will be back for sure!! Make sure you make reservations even if you can't go when you want to, it is busy and there will be a wait.

I almost feel badly writing a less than positive review because the service was really great. The servers and the manager were very polite and attentive and really tried to resolve our issues, but the kitchen just couldn't get its act together. Even the best service can't make up for mangled and improperly cooked food. We started with the cheesesteak eggrolls, which came out looking like someone had stepped on them. The eggrolls were mostly wrap, not a lot of filling. What little there was of the filling was good. As soon as we received the eggrolls, our main courses came out, even though we had (intentionally) ordered the eggrolls well before we ordered anything else. The server noticed we were not happy with the timing and immediately informed the manager (we didn't ask her to), who then checked in on us for the rest of our meal. My boyfriend got the wings with BBQ sauce (they were out of the other sauce), which were about average. The sauce was a little sweet with no spice to it. The wings were cooked properly. Nothing to write home about, but not bad at all. I ordered the southwest burger medium rare. What I received was raw hambuger meat with a tad of char on the outside and still cold in the middle. The manager took one look at it and agreed it should be sent back. He also took the burger off our bill, whcih was very nice of him. Unfortunately, calling the next burger "medium well" would be a charitable description. It was dry and tasteless with a hint of pink in the very middle of the burger. We just asked for the check. I doubt we will be going back.

We have been to NYAJs 4 times since it opened and have been very happy each visit. We order similar meals each time and have not experienced over cooking as mentioned in other reviews. The service staff has been great, food quality is good, drinks are good. The only small complaint - The BBQ chic pizza was very heavily sauced on our last visit on 12/28. Prices are average for a restaurant in this area. One draw back is this restaurant is always busy. On the positive they must be doing something right to have continual volume of customers. I think this may lead to longer food wait times and poss rushed food explained by others but we have personally seen this. We will be back again!

  • Gwen G.

Wow! The food and service (thanks Abraham) was awesome! Great portions for the money (better than the restaurant across the parking lot who shall remain nameless). I had the cod and crab cake and it was phenomenal! My husband had a burger which he said was great and our desert? The peanut butter chocolate thing? OMG! To Die For! Going back! Going back! Going back!

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The only downside was the 45 minute wait and the semi attentive service. We waited a bit too long for our orders to be taken as well as check delivery. The food was delicious, I recommend any burger. Next time I'm making a reservation.

I have been to Not Your Average Joe's a number of times now, and until tonight I was very pleased with my experiences. My girlfriend has several food allergies, so we like that Joe's caters to her food preferences. As for tonight, I took my girlfriend and her sister who is in from Colorado to Joe's because we were raving about how great it was, and I am so incredibly disappointed with everything from start to finish. Having worked in the restaurant industry as a server for 6 years now, I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt. The hostesses were nice, not overly friendly but good enough. Our waitress started out nice, pretty talkative but that's okay. Took her over 5 minutes to greet us. Took 20 minutes to even get our drinks on the table. Our appetizer of fries was delivered before we even had waters or our bar drinks delivered. She explained that they were incredibly busy, but things kept getting worse. I ordered a side salad which I did not get until an hour and a half after we sat down!! For a salad, for lettuce and tomatoes on a plate, it took that long. I approached one manager to tell him it had been 20 minutes since we had drinks and he was nice about that. I had to go to the bar to order myself another drink because our waitress disappeared. She kept checking back with us asking about what we ordered because I guess she lost our order. Our food finally got delivered at 8:15 when we were seated at 6:30! Everything was wrong. Burger was burnt. Chicken came without fries and was extremely salty. One member of my group couldn't even eat it. Steak on the salad was disgusting. The manager made things better by giving us gift cards to use next time, but honestly I do not think we will be back. It was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in a very long time.

I've gotten take out from here many times and dined in once. I'm very impressed with the quality and consistency of the food. The salads are excellent in freshness and taste. Their sandwiches are just ok--not enough meat/fillings compared to the thick, homemade focaccia. As some other reviewers reference, this place is often crowded, but they have a good size bar area where you can grab a drink while you wait. It's not a great place to take children, especially young ones, because of the lack of menu items and a more sophisticated atmosphere.

  • Steve O.

I really like this place. It's bright and airy and the food is really good. A little expensive but not too bad. If you go for lunch make sure you have enough time. The service is very slow! Good variety of food. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I tried out this restaurant the other night. Nothing was impressive. Atmosphere was average, drinks were yucky and the food was very average at best. Waitress was nice but very slow. I'm hoping for a 'do over' date night since this place was so lousy. Don't go, not worth the money. I can't imagine this place being in business much longer.

Went here today for lunch at 1pm and there still was a wait! Service was good and the appetizer bread and dip is great. Ordered a Cobb salad and a Caesar salad and both were fine. Cute industrial decor.

Not Your Average Joe's in Glen Mills is a welcome addition to restaurants in the area. The staff was amazing. On their game for sure. You can tell they are trained with care and quality. They knew the menu inside and out and gave us recommendations. The Bread!! OH the BREAD! It's so good and the sand/ olive oil mixture is the perfect combination. If you haven't tried it I recommend. It gets fairly busy so making a reservation is a good idea if you have a large party or want to go on a weekend. Love the nachos, the Chicken Monalisa salad, the Thai noodle salad, the only thing I haven't liked was the veggie burger. Good flavor but fell apart and could not be enjoyed like a normal burger.

Disappointing compared to previous dining experience. The enchiladas were sitting beautifully on top of rice and beans but they were almost empty. I had three enchiladas and could only find five small chunks of cjicken

Great atmosphere/branding and good for happy hour, however food was definitely "your average joes." Would rather have had an Outback Steakhouse menu. Decent beer selection and service is well managed.

We were very impressed with the style and atmosphere of the restaurant upon entering. We checked in and they took our cell pH number to text when our table was ready. That was cool enough, so we went to the bar for drinks. The bar area was crowded and active. This is where the problems started. No one at the bar acknowledged us or asked if we wanted a drink menu, thanks to a helpful patron we got one and proceeded to find some fruity drinks to order. We were excited to have some specialty cocktails as the area is weak for that. I saw the bartender putting whip cream in a drink and quickly grabbed the menu, wondering if had missed that ingredient. The drink said 'foam' and it turned out to be a snifter with an inch of whipped cream and a half inch of drink. $8 shot really. No biggy, drank up and ordered a margarita. It was terrible. Tasted like OJ with tequila. The bartender was obviously unsure of her mixology as she asked how every drink was with a confused look on her face. Not very reassuring and no, its not good. The other issue was that there is a non alcoholic menu and a alcoholic menu. Once again, no one told us. Multiple bad drinks later and drinks made with missing ingredients, we decided to give up. Not to mention a worthless and clueless male bartender who took orders and gave them to the female bartender. Next, 45 minutes and no text later we had to ask the hostess what the deal was. She then asked if we had Verizon? And said, Oh, we are having issues with people with that provider. Seriously? We are waiting for 45 mins and you don't come find us? Or better yet ask if we are Verizon customers upfront knowing that was a problem? Don't launch your restaurant with a platform that doesn't work. On to dinner. Brutal appetizer, Tuna roll with a millimeter spec of tuna surrounded by an inch of rice all covered up with excessive sauces. What a total rip off. After making it known that we needed a magnifying glass to find the tuna, the waiter, who did a great job, admitted that it was brutal and that it wasn't the same roll they served him at training. There must have been 20 corporate staff members in the restaurant that night, some were working, most were standing around talking and joking. None of the 5 managers, 5-6 corporate big wigs ever stopped by to ask how or experience was. No wonder, it turned out they were seated right next to us having drinks and looking at their cell phones at 8:45 at night on a Friday. You guys have a lot of work to do. Our waiter did get one of the managers to stop by, he was nice and listened to our less than good critique of the restaurant. We will give this place another try, but a word of advise, less people doing nothing and more people doing something. I would love to have a conversation with Steve Silverstein about his executive staff. Nothing impressive about executives drinking and relaxing while your restaurant struggles to provide a good product. GET IT TOGETHER. One more chance to impress and its back to PJ's, at least they know how to make a drink and have their s@$$ together. I know I sound harsh in my critique of this place, but there was obviously a ton of cash thrown into this restaurant to get it opened, but staff needs a lot more training, including chefs.

This was our first time here, I have wanted to try this place out since they opened. The decor was very nice, the staff was friendly and inviting. The food was good, but a little less then average. We ordered Thai chicken lettuce wraps for apps and for dinner we had steak and salmon. It didn't meet our expectations and I have had much better food at Applebee's and TGI Friday's.

Went here for the first time tonight. The many highlights included a comfy yet sophisticated atmosphere. A lot of people and talking, but yet you could enjoy your own conversation. We had 8:00 reservations and after about 10 min at the bar, we were seated promptly. Tara was our waitress and she was excellent. She has a love and knowledge of ingredients and food, and was able to offer excellent suggestions . We ordered the chicken luttuce wraps, tuna sushi roll, tuna crispy wontons, and nachos. All were delicious and I highly recommend. The rest of the meal had a great taste. I didn't expect the food to be as tasty and original as it was. The chef came out and introduced himself. He apparently was the new chef and had only been there a few days. He did a great job. Tara our waitress made the night very enjoyable, while being extremely competent. The other pleasant surprise was the price. I felt the prices were reasonable for the quality of food. Only advice....make a reservation and do it a couple of nights in advanced to get the time you want. The weekends are busy and with out a reservation....You will wait.

just had dinner here tonight and everything was delicious. I can't have anything with gluten and I really appreciated how accommodating they were. I was brought out gluten free bread & my own plate of dipping sauce. My burger was served on the same bread and was so good. My whole family was very pleased with their dinner. More restaurants should take note and be more accommodating with gluten free and vegetarian menus.

Love it here!! The food is fabulous and service is spectacular, especially Brittany who is the best server I have ever had at any restaurant! Brittany knows the menu and can recommend the best dishes, plus she has a great personality and takes care of all of her customers. I will come back here again and again!!!

We wanted to love this place and quite frankly were very disappointed. I'm hoping it's newly opened and the service kinks will be worked out. The food was good and the decor was very nice. It's the service that was horrible. Over 20 minutes to take a drink order. Drinks came back wrong. No water for table. We had to ask for things again and again. By the time everything came the kids were too tired to even want to eat. We will give it a few months and try again.

I'm sorry to say this, but we had the worst dinner here. Service was slow, burger was cold, salad dressing was sour, lettuce wraps were awful, dumplings were also in a sour sauce with no filling. The entire dinner was disappointing and we will not be back. Maybe it was an off night with the backup chefs and servers on duty.

My husband and I and another couple had dinner here on a busy Saturday night. The atmosphere is trendy, chic. It's obvious that they spent a lot of money on this renovation. We were seated quickly and our server, Britney was delightful and knowledgable. She gave us a menu "tour" while making her personal recommendations. I enjoyed a fresh and delicious Waldorf salad, while my husband ordered a well received Caesar salad. Three of us ordered the skewered scallops as our entree. They were good sized, served over a bed of cous cous with mixed vegetables. Our fourth ordered Chicken Caprese served with fresh spring greens, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The only disappointment was that my husband's entree came out cold, mine was lukewarm. My husband mentioned this to our server and within minutes the manager apologized and removed both meals from our check. We will go back as this was an overall good experience.

Last night was our first - and last - visit here. We had a reservation, which barely mattered because we still had to wait long...for EVERYTHING. Server, drinks, bread, and dinner. Our server wasn't bad per se, but keeping in the spirit of most of the other reviews I see posted on here, very lackluster. I ordered a burger medium that came out so rare I had to send it back. My husband's pizza was incredibly under-cooked as well, but at this point we were so frustrated with waiting and with the whole place he didn't want to bring that up too. When the new burger finally came out, an hour and 15 mins after we sat down, the bread was so stale and the burger so dry I ended up only eating a few bites. Despite the fact that there were at least 2 managers pacing around the floor all night doing what appeared to be nothing, we never had a manager stop by the table or apologize for the burger and the long wait times. The server was semi-apologetic and did comp off the burger, but overall it was not a very good experience. We really had been looking forward to trying this place and overall left feeling very disappointed. Oh and both my husband and I were servers for over 10 years at both chain and private restaurants so we understand the "game" and how things work in the restaurant world. In addition, we eat out at least twice a week. This was definitely one of the worst experiences we've had dining out in a long time.

Two words: CHICKEN DUMPLINGS. Do yourself a favor, ask for LEASY to be your server and order this bowl of deliciousness! My friend and I had a great time at Joe's. Leasy was amazing and was incredibly passionate about the food. She recommended the ahi tuna, the dumplings, and the peanut butter thing (That's the real name!) I will definitely be back!

Good experience! The bread and oil at the table was delicious and would've ruined my dinner with it if they kept bringing it. I liked that they didn't have what every other place up and down 202 serves, and that they didn't try to sell me the most expensive thing on the menu. Our dinners were tasty and the portions were not heavy, but still enough to eat. I liked the iPhone survey opportunity at the table too, great idea.

I must say, I was totally surprised! These trendy suburban restaurants are usually stocked with "trendy" and disappointing choices. But, what a wonderful surprise! This place has a terrific menu selection and I had a fantastic experience. You won't be disappointed. (The bread, with their special dip was great, by the way.) Now, while the ambiance is somewhat noisy, it *is* lively. The bar is busy, so just be patient, okay? Our server, BRANDON M, was a saint. We had a woman at the table who returned almost everything. (She even said her drink that contained orange juice was too "orangey", whatever THAT means! She returned an entree that was probably perfect. Ridiculous.) Brandon, you get my sympathies! So, great experience and I WILL be back again. :-)

Fast and friendly service. Somewhat limited menu, IMHO but the selections are tasty. Our table had the Mona Lisa salad, Korean bbq salad, and a burger. All were very good with generous servings. Although none of us had it, the meatloaf seemed to be very popular. Very accommodating and attentive servers.

We had excellent service and everyone enjoyed their food. Ordered the enchiladas, buffalo chick pizza, lettuce wraps and the meatloaf was the bomb. Relaxed atmosphere. Will be back for beers

Unfortunately, on this visit, Not Your Average Joe's was just... Average. I see a lot of potential and would be willing to give them another try. However, my last visit left a lot to be desired. Upon arriving, the restaurant was on a 40 minute wait on a Friday evening. We'd tried to make a reservation through open table, but none were available. So, we were willing to wait the 40 minutes, because the menu looked really good and my daughter had been craving a great burger. The menu had a burger that sounded like it would fit the bill perfectly. Upon being seated, we were greeted , in a very lackluster manner, by our server. No matter how friendly and upbeat we were, she just didn't seem to want to be there, but she was not overtly rude. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary bread and oil that came prior to the meal, though the bread would have been better had it been heated. To drink, my daughter ordered the house made strawberry lemonade which she said was delicious. Meanwhile I ordered a beverage called the Pineapple Painkiller. The waitress described it as a pina colada on the rocks with a dash of nutmeg. Perhaps the description was the issue, because it turned out, that this drink was minimally sweet and had very little resemblance to a pina colada in flavor or appearance, so I was a bit disappointed. We ordered the chicken pot stickers for our appetizer. When the potstickers came out they were swimming in a very acidic sea of brown liquid. Upon asking the waitress if this level of acidity was normal she said that it was because the sauce was a balsamic vinegar reduction, however upon speaking with another server we were told that the sauce should not have been that acidic, but then the manager stated that the sauce was actually a ponzu soy sauce. There appeared to be a lot of confusion about what this dish should have been. For our main course my daughter ordered a medium (temperature - not size) house burger, while I ordered the restaurant version of a Waldorf salad. The salad was a nice twist on the Waldorf however, the burger came out very over done. We pointed this out to the waitress who promptly took it back to get a second burger which did come out perfectly cooked. The burger was delicious and worth the wait. The manager was very receptive to the feedback we offered and comped both the burger and the appetizer, as well as offering dessert. The restaurant is fairly new and I am confident that in time service will improve. I look forward to visiting again and having a much better experience!

I came in the other night fully prepared to be underwhelmed, as I'm not typically a fan of chain restaurants. However, I was pleasantly surprised by both the service and the food/drink. My server James was extremely personable and kept my wine glass full and the table clear. The complimentary oil and focaccia are delicious. My entree, a goat cheese salad, was very good. It could use some crunchy texture (like a crust on the goat cheese, for example). Also, the vinaigrette was psychedelic pink, which was weird, but it tasted good. The service was outstanding overall and the wine list was impressive considering the extremely low average entree cost (around $12). I was also pleased to meet 2 managers, Kevin & Dan(?), who gave me a tour of the restaurant and introduced me to the chefs (they have an open kitchen which is always fun). I'll definitely be back. Maybe they just have a thing for Asian women, but they make me happy long time.

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT UNTIL THE FOOD CAME OUT: First timer to this place so take this review with a grain of salt. Stopped in after a movie with the boss. Really enjoyed the spot and the atmosphere. Ordered two entrees and an appetizer. ATMOSPHERE : There is a variety of seating arrangements catered to a motley of diners from casual bar area, to intimate dinner booth seating, to cafeteria seating one booth one chairs. I enjoyed the open kitchen and TVs around to accommodate all. The fixtures were neat and decor was interesting. SERVICE : Our waitress was very nice - they cater to all allergies and asked if we had any before ordering. Came out with the bread and Romano sauce and was very helpful with us being first timers. Her name began with an N- Nicole? Anyway.. service was great. Ordered an Old Fashioned and appetizer. FOOD: I really am not a picky eater but there has to be some things done right! For being named not your average unfortunately the name doesn't match the experience with taste. Don't get me wrong the bread and sauce was good. We ordered the steak egg rolls- they were cooked alright but the meat inside was tough to the point that when biting it all the meat came out at once and burnt the hell out of my lip. Had to cut the meat and re stuff it to eat it. Meh. Entrees: I ordered the chicken picatta with fettuccini and the boss had a chicken goat cheese salad. She reported that the salad was okay with the goat cheese but the chicken was bland and unappealing. I wish I could brighten things with my food order but the fettucini wasn't done - reminded me of my college years cooking noodles out of a bag and failing at them. The chicken and sauce was VERY BLAND! A taste test while cooking needs to happen. Was just average food which I only ate half of and didn't ask for a box. . We ordered coffee before paying. Coffee was great! CONCLUSION: It was so disappointing because I found myself making excuses for this place until I realized that atmosphere doesn't satisfy your tastebuds or your stomach. Really liked the restaurant, maybe we just ordered the wrong things? There I go again making excuses... would go back and try again but not sold things will be better.

The company was kind enough to contact me back and apologize for the sad visit I had. He even provided me with a very kind gesture. I spoke with the manager and he asked that when I enter the building again that I request to speak with him so that he can formally apologize. I thought this was very kind and caring. I have not gone back yet, but do plan to give it another try!

I'm going to give it 3 stars. I've been there twice, and the experience there is pretty good. Friendly staff, managers walk around and make sure everything is to your liking. They cook to order and take all allergies into consideration when preparing. He food is above average, which is fine. However I've done take out there twice and both times the orders where tiny. I meant noticeably smaller portions than what you get when you are there. Seems like they are trying to pull one over because you can't see it on the plates they serve it on. So yes we'll continue to go, but we will not order take out.

Food was pretty good. Came here for lunch with my mother. Had the warm almond-crusted goat cheese salad (side portion) and a french onion soup. The complimentary bread and oil/cheese/red pepper was decent. Mom had veggie burger. Big portion. Food took awhile to get to us, so had about 4 pieces of bread before it actually arrived. Service was friendly and great about refreshing drinks. Would definitely try it again for dinner.

Great atmosphere, great food and great pricing. What else can you ask for? The only negative I see is parking and the fact that it is in a shopping center, but I have been here a number of times and never had a bad experience. It is a fine spot to bring the kids also.

Haven't had a bad meal yet, even takeout was great. Have sampled three of their salads - all were excellent! The bread is, of course, to die for. Had a few of the sandwiches and burgers so far... All were great. Only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is the last time we were there, we had two $5 off coupons that say "joe doesn't believe in exclusions, so there aren't any"'or something like that... However we tried to use them together and it wasn't accepted. False advertising, Joe. Tried to update... Pizza is also amazing. Three cheese pistachio, oh my!! And sangria selection on Sunday's is great - most places have 1, maybe 2 flavors tops. Unique idea.

This was is pretty good for their pricing, quality, and freshness. Between me and my fiancé we got their nachos (pretty dang good!), meatloaf (in need of some spices), and their jambalaya ( highly recommend!) I also had their watermelon sangria...I wanted a pitcher of this to take home! We will be returning to try some others we had a tough time deciding on. Not a bad family spot with good drinks and food!

Service was really good. Bread with dipping sauce was great.. I liked the decor and the feel of the restaurant. And I like the open kitchen. But... For the price, the food was just okay.

Good food, service was eh. We sat for a while before being greeted. I had the chicken enchiladas, they were a little luke warm- the meatloaf was good. Garlic mashed potatoes were outstanding. All in all it was good. Not great.

We went to Not Your Average Joe's for an early dinner. Although this wasn't our first time visiting this location, our evening started on a disappointing note. There were four people at the hostess station, but they appeared to be confused about something. They tried to treat us like "walk-in's" even though we had a reservation, and insisted on seating us in the bar area. I then requested to sit at a booth (at least 6 were open), but was moved to a free-standing table. Once seated, things really picked up on the service end. Our server was really on top of things which almost made up for the marginal experience when we walked in. The food was good, and service at the table was excellent.

I was so excited to try this place because it looks so fun from the outside! Lots of lights, colors, and an enthusiastic crowd greet you as you walk in. The interior is just as fun -- the bar area has lots of seating and great decor. The dining area is modern rustic, and has display table vices, so cool (I found that exciting because I'm a mech engr)!!! The service was EXCELLENT. Our waitress was very nice! All of their billing is done on tablets in a quick, easy way. The food was ehhhhh, not too flavorful. Not too many vegetarian options (that doesn't include seafood dishes) either, and a little pricey for the portions. The drinks were great -- I recommend getting margarita pitchers for groups! All in all, this is a fun place to dine in Glen Mills once in a while!

After my original review, I was contacted by the GM of the store who promised to send me a gift card for the troubles we encountered. I am displeased to report after contacting him several times, the gift card was never sent. Not the way to make an already unhappy customer happy.

We had a great late lunch here today. We went here for my mom's birthday because she raves about this place being her favorite restaurant. It surely didn't disappoint! This use to be an Outback Steakhouse, however, it has been completely revamped to a hip, open concept/open kitchen restaurant with an industrial vibe. They have an extensive menu that is reasonably priced, and they have a hip full bar with several rotating craft beer selections. For starters, the bread is out of this world! They give you a dipping sauce consisting of EVOO, fresh garlic, Parmesan cheese and red pepper flake. Seriously, I could have made a meal out of my 20 oz. Lagunita IPA draft and this bread! For main entrees, everything was great. I ordered a Backyard Burger, which was cooked to perfection and tasted great. I sampled some of my wife's Anything But Average Meatloaf which I wish I would have ordered. This dish was superb! My mom was very happy with her Sirloin Tips, and my father enjoyed his Smokehouse Jambalaya very much. Our server, Erin, was very inventive to our needs and did a great job making sure our table of 6 always had everything we needed. As far as all of the negative reviews, I don't know what restaurant they were eating at! Seriously, give this place a try. It will not disappoint. We will definitely be back.

We had an awesome experience with Brandon. He was terrific in his explanation of the various dishes and made our decision on what to order that much easier. The food was outstanding! Will definitely be back back to see him and the rest of you folks! Two Thumbs way up!!!!

Good pizzas. Had the chicken sandwich on foccia which seemed like too much bread. Wish they had a lighter bread choice. My pet peeve is the sliced tomato. Why go to the trouble of making a point of cooking everything fresh & serve pale gassed tomatoes with the white core still attached? Especially in the height of tomato season. I'll give it another try to see if they expand the sandwich menu. I really want to like this place.
